Arne Slot Asserts He Is Safe and Has Liverpool's Support Following PSV Eindhoven Humiliation

Arne Slot acknowledged that it's natural for questions to be raised about his position following a further convincing loss against the Dutch champions.

The Reds suffered their 9th defeat in 12 matches, marking the team's poorest streak since being demoted in the 1953-54 season.

They were dominated by the Eredivisie champions on a punishing night at their home ground.

“I am feeling safe, things are alright, I've received plenty of support from management,” the coach commented.

“It's important to reverse this trend and secure a win naturally but when you're coaching a team and not doing well then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He noted, “I am OK with my situation. It is not the initial instance I've found myself in a challenging situation but it is about time that we improved our results.”

Discussions with Liverpool Hierarchy

When asked to expand on his conversations with the Liverpool hierarchy, Slot revealed:

“There's regular dialogue. They assist to the team and for me and those talks happen but they aren't calling me constantly each day to say they trust me.”

He further stated, “Through standard conversations we have I sense the confidence. However I haven’t spoken to them after this game yet so let’s see.”

Recurring Problems and Player Reaction

Slot lamented known weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League loss, specifically wasted chances and leaking goals.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more forthright in his evaluation of the club’s predicament.

“I haven't got the answers. Frankly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones remarked.

“It’s just not good enough. I don’t even have to wait to think about it. I'm beyond feeling anger inside. I’m at the point currently where I simply lack the words.”

He added, “It's tough because I’m playing for the team I support. I'm a supporter, and I've watched this club since I was young.”

“For many years, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team enduring a spell of this nature with performances like these.”

Jones finished, “But we continue to wear the emblem on our chest. And until it is gone, we will always battle.”

“We’re going to try to help the side return to where it needs to be, prove again the values of this club and the reason it's called the top club in the world.”

“But right now, we’re in the shit and we have to turn it around.”
