Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former physician has been charged with committing assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.

Authorities have asked anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
