Star Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Position Following Narrating Disputed Coronavirus Documentary
The "Taken" star has given his narration to a new documentary that challenges the efficacy of vaccinations and praises one-time cabinet secretary the political figure.
The Documentary's Contentious Foundation
Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is based on a popular book published by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for claims that the virus was a result of a problematic version of the influenza shot.
The book's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with far-right media personality the Infowars host. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's involvement in the film.
An Unequivocal Statement
Representatives for Neeson have issued a comment firmly refuting claims that he holds anti-immunization views.
"We all understand that unethical practices might be present within the drug industry, but that cannot be equated to rejection of vaccines," the comment reads. "Neeson is not, and is not, against vaccines. His extensive work with Unicef highlights his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement noted that the actor was not involved in crafting the documentary's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Major Claims In the Feature
As presented, the voiceover spoken by Neeson includes several controversial points:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
- It posits that "research has become deeply politicized."
- RFK Jr is interviewed claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
- It also criticizes stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
- On the topic of Covid vaccines, it references a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Previous Background and Current Issues
It includes a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the subject of a correction by the broadcaster for unbalanced reporting.
Recently, Kennedy called on the CDC to alter its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This claim is also referenced in the documentary, despite a recent study from the WHO reiterating no connection has been found.
An Earlier Statement of Endorsement
Contrasting the film's message, Neeson has formerly voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's narration stating, "This marks not the conclusion of our narrative. It is the beginning of a new chapter."
