The UK is set to progress with employing the entire amount of seized Russia's funds to support Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to participate in talks.

They added that the initiative would be carried out in tight collaboration with the America.

UK sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government began its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, previously, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russia's funds had solely been taken from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were aligned in their goal to drive progress toward utilizing the complete amount of the seized Moscow's national holdings to conclude the conflict.

He stated that additional sanctions soon would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This statement comes after European Union leaders gathered in the Danish capital last week to consider employing seized Russian funds for a €140 billion financial aid to Ukraine.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump called on international partners to confiscate or utilize frozen Russian funds, according to news outlets.

The value of frozen Russian assets in the Europe is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

The Russian government executed large-scale bombardments throughout Ukraine on that day, resulting in power cuts in large parts of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.

Two people were killed and at least 20 people were hurt in the strike, authorities in Ukraine said.

In a message on an online platform subsequent to the incident, Zelensky wrote that the cynical and calculated attack aimed at civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What is required is not mere statements but firm measures - from the US, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in delivering defense mechanisms and applying sanctions," he stated.

"Every sanction decision undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky stated to the press he would press Sir Keir to participate in the PURL programme, under which alliance members buy arms from the America to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the UK's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the system, as well as enforce more sanctions on Moscow.
